Q: What are the two acceptable identifiers we use when providing care to a patient?
A: Per our policy #02-02-04, name and date of birth—not medical record number. Remember to check against the patient’s armband, not against a procedure board or document.

Friday’s Paycheck Includes Tobacco-Free Credit

All Sibley benefit eligible employees who are enrolled in our medical benefits and passed the tobacco screening test will notice a partial credit on their paycheck dated Jan. 13.

Because the tobacco-free credit was activated in the middle of a pay period (Dec. 25 to Jan. 7), employees will receive half of the bi-weekly credit. On the next pay date, Jan. 27, employees will receive the full $20.
The credit will appear on the left side of your paycheck under earnings.

Design Team Training in Feb.

The Sibley Innovation Hub believes everyone has the ability to be creative and solve through human-centered design. To get started, we offer an introduction to design called “design team training.” In this one-day workshop, participants get hands-on experience using human-centered design to tackle a challenge within health care. Upon completion, you’ll understand the design process and feel prepared to lead your own design projects to solve problems or create new things in your area of work.

Training is facilitated by Frankie Abralind, design coach at the Hub. Frankie is an experienced designer who studied design at Cornell University and earned his M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.

When: Thursday, Feb. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Innovation Hub
