Today’s TJC Tidbit
The Joint Commission (TJC) will be visiting Sibley. To help everyone prepare, we will be featuring a daily tip here.
TJC uses “tracer methodology” as a method of assessment. It is their process of tracing the care of patients throughout their stay, to assess both patient care and system process issues for standard compliance. Tracer activities are also used to assess interdisciplinary relationships and communication among all departments or services.

This February, in celebration of African American History Month, we’d like to remind all blood donors of the importance of a diverse blood supply. In just about an hour’s time you can help hospital patients by donating blood. Right now there is an urgent need so your donation is especially critical.
Patients are less likely to have complications from blood donated by someone with a similar ethnicity. That’s why patients with diseases like sickle cell, which predominantly affect African Americans, rely heavily on blood donated by fellow African Americans for their frequent transfusions.
As special thanks for your support during African American History Month, you’ll receive a $5 Amazon gift card claim code by email for donating by Feb. 26.
