Tips with Pics
Logs should be complete. If an area is closed on weekends, it should be noted on the log.
Fishin’ for Nutrition
This week’s theme for National Nutrition Month is “Fishin’ for Nutrition.” The American Heart Association recommends eating at least two servings of fish per week. Fish is a great source of high-quality protein and is rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, potassium, iodine and magnesium.
These nutrients can help lower blood pressure and also reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke. Fish is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart and brain health.
Do you get enough fish in your diet? Want to know more about which fish are safest to eat and about making ocean-friendly choices?
Please stop by the registered dietitian table in the cafeteria today from noon to 1 p.m. to learn more about the benefits of making fish a regular part of your diet. Play our “one fish, two fish” game and pick up a free healthy snack. In conjunction with our theme, the Café will be serving citrus salmon with cous cous.
Staff Lactation Room for Nursing Moms
The staff lactation room is permanently located in Building B, Floor 4, Room 4B228, immediately outside of unit 4B. It is a private, cozy space for mothers to relax while pumping. If you would like access, please contact Tim Souza at email@example.com.
Also, our lactation services department has graciously offered all new breastfeeding moms a courtesy one-hour “Back to Work” consult. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-243-2321 to schedule your consult.
Calling all staff! The Hub is beginning a fun series of short storytelling workshops to teach easy techniques and tips for telling the story and process of your design project. Not only will it be a fun and interactive hour, but it’ll also be extraordinarily helpful in learning how to craft presentations on your design project. No need to have finished your project(s) in order to join us! The workshops are free, and no previous storytelling experience is required.
All attendees are welcome to bring their lunch! Please RVSP to Carmen at email@example.com if you plan on attending.
First session: Thursday, March 23 from noon to 1 p.m.
Second session: Wednesday, April 19 from noon to 1:30 p.m. (Please note: This will be in lieu of the Hub’s regular Lunch N’ Learn.)
