Ask Chip—Where Is the Honey from the Beehives at Sibley Going?

A: At Sibley, our bees and beehives are “on loan” to us. The bees belong to a community beekeeper, who houses the bees on our campus. Having the bees here at Sibley helps to pollinate the greenery on our campus, allowing our employee garden and rooftop plants to thrive. The beekeeper benefits by having a location in the city to house the bees. Our beekeeper handles extraction and distribution of the honey through his own networks.
